Flooring Installation

How Long Does Carpet Installation Take?

Carpet being installed on a staircase and hallway

Book the fast, reliable carpet installers in Metro Detroit at Quick Carpet — next-day installation on qualifying in-stock products.

One room: a few hours

A single bedroom or family room is typically a few hours from tear-out to vacuum. We remove the old carpet and pad, prep the subfloor, install new pad and carpet, cut in the transitions and clean up.

A whole floor: usually one day

Most full upper floors — bedrooms, hallway and stairs — are completed in one day. Larger houses or more complex layouts can run into a second day, and we'll tell you that at the estimate.

Stairs add time

Stairs are the slowest part of a carpet job because each tread and riser is secured individually. A straight staircase is a few hours; a curved staircase or a runner takes longer.

What next-day installation means

On qualifying in-stock products, we can install the day after you choose — call today, install tomorrow. It depends on material availability and the size of the job, so we confirm it at the estimate rather than promising it blindly.

Special orders take longer

A product that isn't in stock has to come from the mill, which can add days to weeks. If timing matters most, we'll show you the in-stock options that meet your date.

How we keep your house livable

We sequence multi-room jobs so you're not living around the work all week, move the furniture for you, and clean up before we leave each day.

Questions homeowners ask

Do I need to leave the house during installation?
Not usually. It's noisier than a normal day and doors are open, but most homeowners stay home. If you'd rather be out, we can schedule around it.
How soon can you start?
On qualifying in-stock products, next-day installation is available. We'll give you a realistic date at the free estimate.
